In a highly anticipated second-round fixture of the National Futsal Cup, the stage was set for an intense showdown between two formidable contenders: Tring Futsal Club and the reigning National champions, Bloomsbury Futsal.
From the opening whistle, both teams showcased their determination and skill, demonstrating why they had reached this stage of the competition. Tring was looking for an upset, applying pressure and dictating the tempo of the game early on. However, as the first half went on Bloomsbury started to assert their dominance on the game, ending the first half 10-0. Understandably, a very nervy first half from Tring Futsal Club but they showed great resilience against the National champions.
The second half proved much more competitive, as we narrowly lost the second half 9-6. Great character shown from the boys as they matched Bloomsburys energy and determination. Led by the outstanding performance of Rex, who was rightfully awarded Player of the Match, allowed us, at times, to seize control of the game with our attacking flair and courage on the ball.
As the final whistle blew, we could not have been more proud of the boys who fought hard from the first whistle. Not the result we wanted, as our journey in the National Futsal Cup comes to an end but a great experience nonetheless. Good luck to Bloomsbury as they progress and thank you for all the fans that came down to make it a great atmosphere.
